Community Days are a few hours each month where a specific Pokémon spawns in massive numbers. With a little planning, you can make each one count — whether you're shiny hunting, building PvP teams, or stocking up for trades.

Before Community Day

  • Clear your bag and Pokémon storageYou'll be catching a lot — don't let a full bag slow you down
  • Stock up on Poké BallsPrioritise Great Balls and Ultra Balls for rarer catches
  • Check the Community Day moveKnow whether the exclusive move is good for raids, PvP, or both — it affects how many you evolve
  • Have your tracker openKnow going in whether you need the shiny, the normal form, or both

During Community Day

  • Shiny check every Pokémon before catchingTap, see if it's shiny, then decide whether to use a good ball
  • Don't evolve everything on the spotYou have until 5 hours after Community Day ends to evolve for the exclusive move
  • Catch extras for tradingTrade partners at the event or later will want shinies — catch enough to have spares
  • Use Incense and LuresThey increase spawn rates further on top of the Community Day boost

After Community Day — evolving strategically

After the event, check the IVs of your best catches before evolving. If the Community Day move is strong for PvP, you might want specific IV spreads (low Attack for Great League). For raid attackers, higher is better across the board.

Keep one or two unevolved Community Day Pokémon for future trades — people who missed the event will want them.

Know before you go — check what you need

Before Community Day, open PokeTracker to see if you already have the shiny, the normal form, or both. Knowing your gaps means you can spend the event catching what you actually need rather than catching everything and sorting out later.
