How to track which Pokémon you're missing in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO doesn't have a built-in checklist view that shows all Pokémon and which ones you still need. The in-game Pokédex shows your registered entries, but it doesn't give you a clear overview of gaps — especially across regional exclusives, forms, and costumes.

Most serious players end up using one of three approaches: screenshots, spreadsheets, or a dedicated web tracker. Each has trade-offs.

Screenshots and manual notes

Many players screenshot their in-game Pokédex and compare it to a list of all available Pokémon. This works in the short term but quickly falls apart — Niantic regularly adds new Pokémon, regional forms, and costume variants. Keeping a manual list up to date is a full-time job.
